Know how precious you are!

There are instances in our life when we feel lost, we feel we are worthless and so imperfect that we are never going to achieve things we have wished for. And sometimes these negative feelings leads to more  negative thoughts as unknowingly we start searching for them and forget to find their solutions. We end up finding faults in each and every aspects of our lives we come across and forget to acknowledge and show gratitude for what we have got. We forget – “ What we think, we become!” We start questioning our identity, our values..

Lets learn what is the value of our lives through a short story which is really an inspiring one….


            

One day a young boy asked his father-“What's the value of my life?”

Instead of answering, the father gave his son  a rock and said- “Go and sell it in a market. If anybody asks the price, raise two fingers and don’t say anything.”

The boy then went to the market and a woman asked: “How much is this rock? I want to put it in my garden.”

The boy didn’t say anything and raised two fingers and the woman said -“2 dollars? I will take it!

The boy went home and told his father-“ A woman want to buy this rock for 2 dollars!”

The father then said-“Son, I want you to take this rock to the museum. If anybody wants to buy it, don’t say a word and just put up two fingers.”

The boy then went to the museum and a man wanted to buy the rock. The boy didn’t say a word and put up two fingers and the man said- “200 dollars? I’ll take it.”

The boy was shocked and went running home and said to his father-“ Father, a man wants to buy this rock for 200 dollars.”

His father said –“Son, the last place I want you to take this is to a precious stone store. Show it to the owner and don’t say a word and if he asks the price...just put up 2 fingers.”

The son went to a precious stone store. He showed the rock to the owner who said-“ Where did you find this stone? Its one of the rarest stone of the world…I must have it. How much would you sell it for?”

The boy put up two fingers and the man said-“ I’ll take it for 200,000 dollars!”

The boy not knowing what to say ran home to his father and said-“ A man wants to buy the rock for 200,000 dollars!”

His father then said- “Son, do you know your value of life now? You see, it doesn’t matter where you come from, where you were born, the color of your skin, how much money you were born into. It matters where you decide to place yourself, the people you surround yourself with and how you choose to carry yourself. You may have lived your whole life thinking that you were a 2 dollar stone or surrounded by people that saw your worth only for 2 dollars but everybody has a diamond inside of them and we can choose to surround our self with people that see our value and see our diamond inside  of us. We can choose to put ourselves in a market or a precious stone store. We can also choose to see the value in other people and help them see the diamond inside them. Choose the people you surround yourself with wisely that can make all the difference in your life."

                          

             

We are all sinful human, we feel sad when something doesn’t happen according to our will. But the sadness should not conceal our personality or mood for long. It make us a victim of depression which is no less than toxic. I would like to share a great saying- “Unless you change your thinking, you will always recycle your experiences.” So, if your experiences are good, be thankful and help others..and if they are not, don’t worry, have faith in yourself, you will surely have many better ones..
